CABARETE is a young town, The Cabarete bay is internationally known for its perfect all year around wind conditions. The town of Cabarete had its beginnings in the early 1980s as a small fisher village until it was discovered by windsurfers who spread the word and due to its strong and consistent winds, it started to become windsurfers and surfers, and more recently kite surfer's paradise.With the time more and more Windsurfing schools, Restaurants, Hotels and Apartment projects where built along the bay. Every year several international water sport championships take place in the bay of Cabarete.

Build along a beautiful white sanded bay protected by a coral reef barrier at one side, and at the other side with the protected national park, Laguna Cabarete, which doesn't allow the town much room to expand to the sides. This allowed only the construction of one main road, with projects and hotels built between the road and the beach; this gives Cabarete the little town feeling, and makes everything close by, you can easily get around in Cabarete by foot.

The Bay of Cabarete futures many lovely first class Cuisine Restaurants, at sunset the food is served right on the Beach. Later at night some of the Restaurants turn in to clubs and the beach party gets started.
